The Common Man

This world is trying hard to fail.
Industries are going under.
Those with money to be spent
Are making every blunder.

It's sad to see big plants and small,
Saying we can't make a profit anymore.
The only thing left if we can't survive,
Is to calmly close the door.

Somehow the economy must surely change,
And get the workers hired again.
Same as the poor that were employed,
Where will new employees come in?

Our health insurance is out of sight.
Those not working can hardly pay.
Parents are desperate to raise their young.
They can't pay health costs of the day.

If something doesn't cause a change,
And some how help The Common Man,
To find a way to live again,
I believe that only our God can.

Truth in words
You speak truth and the story is so common. I have so much respect and love for the common man - My father, my grandfather and those before him, they don't thrive on riches and pride. They just want to provide for their loved ones and have peace of mind that they will eat and be clothed and sheltered and loved. Great piece!!
