It's Xmas ...again

I’m wading through the crap of Christmas
parading a phony smile
the mince pies taste like plastic
polluting my inner child

While Santa’s abusing his reindeer
in the snow upon the hills
the malls are filled with zombies
maxing their credit card bills

And once again stressed families
gather to share a meal
thank God it’s not that often
the pudding and goose ordeal

Then as belts begin to tighten
and we’re stuffed with Xmas cheer
I think
wouldn't it be so much nicer
to have it every other year

Fully Agree.
Great little poem with a really well intended feature. Why not have Christmas every other year, I agree. It has become , like so many other events, a money making business grabbing nightmare. Well done, oh and by the way, Happy Christmas to you. SL Rod.

Thanks and the same greetings to you, Rod ( for next year of course).

On the other hand...

You could be right... but naturally everyone's ideas on the subject are different, John.
