The Heavens Closed Their Eyes

While sands crossed waters
Entered upon winds of storm
As humanity became engulfed
Within its own demise
Terror became a feast
As sunlight turned nightmare
Darkness found a place to conceive
The angels wondered why
No one thought to solution as
Greed and power formed vessels of oils
Age neither mattered to martyrs
Color crossed barriers everywhere
Sandstorms of war traveled
To the ends of earth
Satellites became fighters of
Nuclear stealth and the Apocalypse
Prophets and politics of kingdoms
Religious fanatics and soldiers
Death bombs shattered the cities
The pestilence began to exterminate
Separation was no longer real as
Biblical history emerged to destiny
Suicidal rollercoaster screamed murder
Vanishing humanity from presence
And wonder of faith and prayer
Pleading from the souls of innocence
Eradication, extermination, genocide
Universal bomb shelter no where to hide
The sands crossed the waters
Entered upon the winds of storm
As humanity became engulfed
Within its own demise

The Heavens closed their eyes

Sadly spot on...
and needing to be said over and over again until people all over the world get it! Why? That is the major question! Why? Why must it forever be like this? My father was a soldier in WWII, also a Jew. OK, he helped to fight and vanquish Germans who sadly supported Hitler. That I can understand! My son in the Marines helped to rid Iraq of Hussein and his sons. Somewhat understandable too though I think US reasons for going there were less altruistic than that. I often tend to support the soldier and abhor the war. This is a great anti-war poem! I have composed quite a few myself. Well said and the soundtrack adds to it! A definitely perfect poem and one that deserves a SL!

Thank you, a very appreciated review..
