Interminable Time

Interminable Time
                      by Odin Roark

When time looks around,
ancient, yet so new, is the lingering of the caveman's spear,
the insistence of his primal wail
echoing through the narrow memory of mind.

The we…

Who walk with false pride as modern man,
losing daily the value of remembrances,
blinded by present and future as something more than the past.

We who might never again appreciate yesterday's language
on the rocks,
parchment paper,
video screens and
holograms of today.

Why does progress sometimes choose to forget
that we are but today’s cavemen,
buried deep inside our own vanity.

So insistent, yet patient,
this interminable time.

I liked this . . .
it has some grounding boy to it. The verse which speaks of modern man being the "today's cavemen is deeper in meaning than any other. Spotlight!

Skip over "boy." Heh.Heh
