What If

What if we could unsay, take back when we have hurt someone.
What if once fired, remorse called the bullet back to the gun.
What if three little letters which make WAR did not exist.
What if anger in our mind, didn’t cause cascades of red mist.
What if the weakest beings, were protected by the strong.
What if all could tread with confidence, in this world belong.
What if a higher power, shadowed us all on this crust.
What if all held the same belief, saying love... peace, a must.
What if these feelings, we captured and held for just a while.
What if looking into peoples eyes, you could see them smile.
What if this a template, for all future generations.
What if these are seeds been sown, awaiting germination.
What if this world could live as one, seeing all that is good.
What if for most of us, What if, What if, we really could.

This is a wonderful piece. What if's could go on forever and changing the world into a better place is hard but at least we can try. All we need is faith and hope. We are just humans that live and learn. This is a wonderful poem that I think many people can relate to. Thank you for sharing this with us. Well done. - PD

Poems with this message make people realise what might have happened if they had thought before acting. A poem short and succent hits a message home hard and clear. This does the job nicely. Well done

I love this poem. Well written. What if indeed the whole world was filled with love and peace instead of war and voilence. If it's not in our reality, at least we can dream it.

Just think that we spend to much time hurting rather than helping the situation, how nice would it be to wave that magic wand

You may be 'Littlevoice' but your wonderful message is loud and clear and so encouraging to the human heart, dear poet. When I read it, I feel uplifted, to hear another's plea for peace and harmony, the most beautiful song to be sung. I also like your avatar, it's image evokes a sense of freedom and clarity, a little like Jonathan LIvingston Seagull! Spotlight for a lovely spirit!

I thank you for your review, and although the picture was taken by me it is a pelican. I do feel exactly the same sentiment, the book Johnathan Livingstone Seagull is an amazing book, once again thank you hope you don't mind if I join your fan club
