If I told you that I love you,
Just what would you say?
Would you ask me to goon talking?
Or would you turn and walk away?
If I bared my soul with what
Is on my sleeve,
Would you ask me for my coat?
Or would you ask me just to leave?
There are many loves I have for you.
Each one is perfectly
True and blue.
I’d like to goon about it,
But I’m afraid you have
Some doubt about it.
No matter dear,
For I must express what’s on my mind
You’re the type of person
I must have in my life.
There’s no room for doom sayers
Or scraping past the dust
It’s you I really need to have,
I need to have you I must!
You’re wonderful beyond compare,
There’s just no disputing this,
And just knowing that you’re here
Leaves me in washes of bliss.
So are you able to take
What I’m telling you?
Would you turn your heart
Towards me too?
Because all I really want to say,
Is that
I truly adore you.
