Nocturnal Me 
Nocturnal Me

Night owl by my natures own toil,
But it doesn't run in the family-
I'm the only one burning the midnight oil,
No, everyone is asleep, everyone but me.

I love the silent beat of the night,
In water-colored shadows that freak me.
Spinning words into rhymes in dark delight,
Needing the need to be quiet and sneaky.

I stay awake until the morning dew,
Now missing the moon and stars,
Tho I certainly love a beautiful day too,
The night time is where my thoughts still are.
