Just for Today 
|

-xXx- Just for Today -xXx-
Cavernous holes veining deep within,
And fighting for years to fill them.
Powerless to stop the things that I did,
To sort out my demons and kill them~
Addiction made my perception a bit askew,
I see it as so evident from this far.
At the time I didn't realize that it was 'pain',
The worst demon; at the helm of my car~
Up and down the slippery slopes of insanity;
Rage, hate, love, lust, laughter, and then some.
I'd looked my whole world round to find,
My laces and bows snapped and come undone~
This was my way of life for my lifetime long.
No stranger to believing I needed to be high,
But I believe now I am ready to release these reigns,
To the awesome Power that is Higher than I~
Yet, I won't tell you that life is all just that easy,
For the pure and simple truth is;
Rarely pure, and hardly ever simple.
So I really just want to say this:
It may sound or even be cliché to some,
But I've found strength in what they say in NA.
That pure and simple motto being:
Just, Just for, Just for Today~
