Faded Destiny

Could my age not have deceived me, thinking Love was meant for fools?

A child was I for thinking not to dare a mightier approach....

Perhaps I thought I knew you best....

Your hair, your laugh. You smile....a face more than just a mother could love.

When did 18 turn to 28? A freshman year...a lifelong pact...a promise we'd hold nothing back.

My love...her name...I dare not say.

My love....I know...means nothing today.

My love for her, won't go away.... love....perhaps someday.

Ah, the power of perhaps.
Nothing sadder than unrequited love, wishing you'd kicked the ball harder and memories flooding back.
But past is past and perhaps one day we have to let it go for good.
Best ~ Abra
