       THE REDEEMER

I fall tonight in waters deep
Is there anyone there to save me?

I glimpse my Savor's wretched face
Is there refuge there for me?

I hear the sound of trumpets far
Will He be waiting there beyond that star
when strength and courage fails me?

Come take me now, my Blessed Lord >>>

There's nothing left to keep me bent,
my purpose here on earth is duly spent.

For what is life without a cause to fight
Where are the friends on earth to help you
              put things right?

The longer, better days are long gone >>>
        Dare I linger on <<< ^ >>> ?
Over to you , my dear Redeemer!

Author Notes

Many who feel that they have come to the end of 'usefulness' here on earth wish only to depart this world for a better/ happier space.

Faith is Purpose Enough!
Many underestimate the suffering of the old and sick, but God does not, he is always by our side.

Beautiful Prayer!

Thank you so much for a meaningful review, your visit and gifting me with points and stars. Have you a good Easter.

There are indeed old people who believe that their usefulness has ended but this is not always the case. In ancient times there were many jobs that the elderly could do and there are still in modern times. The blind can help the young with their pronunciation of words during reading. The deaf can help with spelling. The frail can be storytellers in a schools. Even here I have found uses for 3 groups without much thought. There is no point in ending their time when they still have something they can do. Thanks for sharing.

I have come across many who had given up on life/themselves until they were introduced to elderly groups that catered for the isolated through no fault of their own. Such changes were made that they took on a new lease in life.

Never give in
Hope this is a poem from the hand and not the heart!! I would hate to think that you are giving in.....certainly not the Kitty I have come to know and respect. Very interesting content though. Another example of your poetic geneous, very enjoyable and thought provoking. Never give in Kitty those friends you mentioned are still and always will be alongside you. SL for this my Girl. Rod.

Have no fear, my dear, this here Kitty is fully balanced! Just trying my hand at the darker side of writing to express some of the vibes picked up on here ... and in my previous job. My aim was to shake the oldies out of depression into a merrier frame of mind. There was success there as the groups grew to bursting. Shame I had to give them up! You are being too generous.. thanks just the same. Sunshine down here but cold winds blowing! Anchors on!

A dark write Kitty!
There's is one true way of determining if your time on earth has passed. If you're alive is hasn't. Usefulness is a perception blinded by your own doubts. Best to ask someone who loves you; they'll tell you straight. Well done.

Thank you so much Tony for your perceptive insight into this piece. Only expressing  what a few might be thinking in a moment of sorrow and despair. I have come across many who have felt this way having worked with Age (UK) for many years.  There are so many lonely people out there, you'd be surprised. Sorry about this 'dark' one but awareness must be brought about so people can reach out!

Whispering Hope
My God, Kitty, I hope you're not talking about yourself. I'm still trying to deal with Sarah.

No mt John. Although certain recent incidents - my brother in law, Sarah and two of my daughter's dads have some bearing on this sad piece. I am completely accepting of God's plan for me and never worry about the future. Thank you for caring and for this loving feedback.

Typo - words are  "no, not me John"

Hope Drive Needed!!!!
I dont know, I totally understand, we al face times like these, but with me of late I have been thanking God for that extra breath, that extra day of life. I hope you change your mind and continue to keep your "lively drive" alive. Touching piece, Dear Kitty. Keep on, Keeping on!! SL!!! ~Andy

Variety becomes the 'spice' to life. Have to keep the ink flowing and put across some of the thoughts picked up on here. I'm OK my friend. Still trying to remain balanced. Over worked, as you know but it keeps me going,. Still looking for that 'escape route' though! Friends like you keep me focused... so don't worry I'm still on track>>>>

And transferred to mine, which felt it also. Sometimes, we do wonder, but it is up to Him to take us when He wishes. As the line goes, and a recent popular song, too "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger." Take care, Kitty. Donald!

Thought I'd experiment with this one Don on a sadder note to test response. Thanks for an honest feedback!
