A whisper.
Fallen leaves and windless trees
my heart skipped, I held my breath.
He sauntered forward--my anticipation acknowledged
as I licked my lips, awaiting his approach.
Seemingly pleased, he grew closer and closer.
A bead of sweat trickled down the small of my back:
the heat of summer punctuating its presence--I hardly noticed.
Motionless I stood, my loins afire with fervor;
so close now was he.
I wait

Helpful? Thumbs UpThumbs Down
Laid beautifully
into place, drawing the reader in to the "breathless" emotion!
