The winds of change
Take us where we may not want to go
It blows through the current stage
Life will take on a different flow
as we open our minds, our hearts
to follow where it may go.

It's up to us to accept what's there
On this new pathway, joys or trials we may fear
With shared/kindred spirits we must be there
to share a life worthwhile, to allay the fear.

Opportunities will arise - our choices clear
Take your pick, why wait in fear?
The sea is large, the oceans wide
up to you to decide ...
which way your wind should blow!

how are these poems spotlighted? I see your good intentions behind this poem and I applaud you for them... yet there was nothing about this poem that worked. plus I found the meaning untrue... we don't control the wind...... we can only identify which way the winds blowing nd deal with whatever from there

I know we don't 'control' the wind my dear friend nor do we have any control - not personally -over any of the elements.I am speaking 'hypothetically' on the winds of change that may 'blow'through our lives. When you have lived as long as i have you will have experienced many changes in your life. Take it or leave it you have to deal with it in the best way possible in order to avoid mental decline. Be 'Awoken' to that fact! I am truly grateful to you for awarding me so generously bringing about the wind of change to my declining 'points. To you I owe the chance to further posts on page. Thank you.

wise words...
Wise words m'dear! Winds will indeed always blow us into happiness or despondency and we must make the best of each contingency. Super piece! Best wishes, Keith
SL for your inspirational message!!!

Oh Keith you seem to know me so well! You have assessed the situation spot on and are into the status quo more than you know!. Thank you for sparing the time to confirm the beliefs I had held on to but seemed to have let slip. Thanks for believing in me and encouraging me to go on. For this I am truly grateful.

very interesting idea
Interesting points that you have made in this poetry. Yes there are many decisions that we may have to make in our life time, some may be right, some wrong, however I believe that is how we learn. To make better decisions in the future my friend. It is natural to fear the unknown, so we must be courageous in our choices, great job kitty. God bless from D

Thank you 'D' for visiting this humble page with gifts.Glad you enjoyed the read. I am grateful for your continued support. Hope you have a better day than we are having in the MIdlands! It's pouring down....but not complaining as we have had good weather so far! Enjoy the day, my friend.

Great use of images coalescing into some lovely verses, abstract but very tangible, this really speaks about the pains of life.

Oh Chris! Sorry to have missed Your kind comments on this one. Your generosity is awesome. Thanks for gifting me.  It has really made my evening.

Just another life story with all its unwelcoming salutation. Life can be a pain with capital P. And sometimes I wonder just why we have to go through so much in life. Somepeople are paying for what they do not know about while others are reaping from the farmland of another. Life is just not fair.

Thank you Matt firstly for being so generous with much needed points and for your visit to my humble page. We look at life and see it's imbalance. We look too and see humans destroying what their forebears have so tirelessly built up. destruction is all around and we live in fear of what tomorrow will bring. Have a good evening, my friend.

A wonderful time-honoured phrase - 'the wind of change'. So unpredictable - a bit like the English weather! And it is a mark of human character how readily we adapt. Or not. Going with the flow - that is what I like doing. Just to see where life takes me. Often the journey is better than arriving.

I totally agree with your take on this piece Justin. Ride with the tide, it's easier that way. Thanks for pointing me so generously. Godd to see you around Thanks.

Good job. I think you really captured the way change works and the positive way we should all take it on. There is always fear in the unknown however as you so wonderfully put it when we open our minds our hearts will follow. Great poem.

Thank you for visiting and your kind feedback. I really do appreciate gifted points. Can't seem to hold on to them these days. I will return the favour soon. Take care now.

Like a hurricane
When the winds of change whisk you into their chartered course, your first thought is...go with the flow...see where it takes you. If the wind is smooth but constant, hang on. If it begins to twist and swirl, look for a soft landing. Change is inevitable...advice abounds. If you're happy with who you are, why change. I changed when I got married, and I almost forgot who I was...without being told. Now, I am who I am and I am thrilled. Good job. Stay Gold.

Again I am picking up similar vibes. Thanks for your kind feedback and oh, so generous points. Much obliged. I was once told 'Stay as sweet as you are, discreet as you are... ' Don't know if you heard of Nat King Cole. one of his favourite songs. Take care now

Nat King Cole was awesome! Such sweet velvety tones. I too am a singer. I signed a recording contract in 1968, but my ex didn't want me to persue it...and of course I didn't, and now wish I had, but C'est La Vie. Thank you for returning my comment, and...oh...I think you pic is magnificant.

I am truly flattered! Can't beat the old romantics. Words they sang are more meaningful in the romantic world. Never too late to pursue your dream. Mine is to publish - no matter how small or how seemingly insignificant. Go ahead give it a go!

We cannot resist change, nor can we go backwards. To watch our world before us now would make us want to resist though. Kind of a spooky world we are leaving our children and grandchildren.

I am sorry my friend that I have not dropped in as before but change for us in our real world has come unexpectedly and still in the midst of readjustment. Hersh still has not regained much strength in his arms and legs and maybe that is a change we are going to have to learn to accept. He has a follow up appointment with the cardiologist tomorrow and maybe he will be able to shed a little more light on things. Myself I think the weakness has just hit at his weakest point which is the polio effects left from his childhood. We are doing OK, but still hard to work everything in to the time we have during the day. Take care of you dear Kitty. I will drop in again on you soon. Hugs, Lesa

You are so kind Lesa. Blessings for the kind gift of points. With faith and hope in our hearts we pray that the findings of the cardiologist will be good. Some changes are hard to accept but prayers will see us through. Keep your soirits up, my dear friend.

Too often we fear change, yet it is inevitable and if we don't embrace it and make the most of it then our lives become stagnant and constricted. This poem says it so well - a clear and bright expression that makes both the mind and the heart take notice.
I like this poem very much.

thank you for your generous offer of points. much appreciated and the clappy hands.
thanx for your visit to my page and for a kind review.

How very true your "winds of change" seem to be blowing as far as I am concerned.
Who can really tell just what the future holds for any of us, or in what direction, those changes will lead us. Bravo to you Kitty, for these profound thoughts. JH

I never expected the response I've had so far on this one.Thank you John for your kind review. This came about through seeing so many people die or made homeless by natural disasters. The reality of it is we could suffer the same or a similar fate. Who knows wher the wind of change might blow?
Thanks for your generous offer of points. They will come in mighty handy. the clappy fellas are a cheery sight.

The poet relates timeless wisdom here, speaking of the ongoing nature of change and the futility of trying to resist it. In the first verse she indicates the need to go with change, to open the heart and mind to it. This is one of the most difficult tasks for the human mind, which compulsively links itself to certain outcomes and then suffers when they don't develop. In the second verse she describes the importance of companions to see us through the lean times. Good advice, though some automatically isolate themselves during these times. The third verse's main point is that it's the individual's choice that is essential:"Take your pick, why wait in fear." All of these are simple maxims, but understanding them seems to require hard knocks for many. A good poem to frame, hang on the wall and read often. PS: consider removing the s from takes in line 2.

Well spotted John! Will make alterations accordingly.Thank you for that and for your keen observation of the contents. Going it alone makes the task seem futile. I welcome reviews like yours, they can be very helpful.

Liked this one Kitty,
I don't know about this being a critical review, not to good at those. As always, you say what you have to say well. Those winds of change always seem to be blowing, I don't know about you but I let them blow me where they wish and I just make the best of where I end up. I always find it easier not too fight any changes. AS humans, we have the capacity to turn any situation into good. Your thoughts follow a straight path, keeping the thought before the reader. Your piece moves on like the wind taking the reader along and actually making them think about changes. I enjoyed this read my friend, as I say, it made me think on the changes that have been in my time and those that may come. Hope you are well. Have a nice Sunday. Catch you later. Your Friend,

Go with the wind they say. The easiest way. Resistance makes things harder. I have learned to accept the things I can't change and thank my God for the many blessings. Keep well Mike.

The advice is excellent
but oftimes things are much easier to say than to do. I so wish that I could always have that mindset but reality just gets in the way. Very well penned, Kitty. Sarah

As always
Well written and meaningful piece. Love your writing it always manages to inspire and right now could do with plenty of inspiring. Very low time of year me, wind of change notwithstanding these five months always go the same way, backward and downward. Roll on April.

My purpose in life is to offer the hand of friendship if or when needed. The dark months always catches us at our lowest ebb. The best is yet to come. Believe it! Thanks for popping in and for the cheery fellas. Be Happy with Mr Clappy!
