Victorious Retreat
Relentless in the methods you use
A siege lasting longer than that of Troy
Any day of peace seems only a ruse
Precursor of what you will next employ
I know by now you will never yield
As your only love is the battlefield
I have heard your accursed war horns sound
Ever baiting me to join in another battle
I have watched you fuck on bloody ground
In between your taunts and saber rattle
Never mindful of this war’s full extent
Past victories have made you overconfident
I will sadly question such a life
Seemingly at it’s best during a fight
The most joyful in terrible times of strife
Inflicting daily woe, sleeping well at night
On the battlefield, you are ever to be
Never knowing if I will attack or flee
Appearing worn down, from this long war
Each day won bringing you closer to defeat
Not quite as strong as you were before
A cruel conquest, you could never complete
More dreadful time will surely go by
Out of your hollow victory, I shall fly
Call to me, but I shall never return
Sound your battle horns if you will
Across the river, your bridge I shall burn
Late at night before going over the hill
Away from this battlefield, I will be
No more of your constant war for me
