Forever your own
Do not fret fellow poetic friends
Your critics are naught without you
Scrutinizing creativity to no ends
Is all they have to do
Words penned are forever your own
Heed not what the lot of them say
Care not what they critique or condone
Choose not to be their prey
Pen in hand and up half the night
Blissful passion, darkness, or black rage
From your own minds these words you write
Ink flowing upon the page
All new poets who are willing to share
Do not be discouraged by a cawing crow
A part of your soul you will have to bare
And bestow in new poetic flow
Old poets who are kind enough to recite
In good company they will gladly share
Imaginative words within the firelight
Applied with the greatest of care
There will never be any poetic words
I could bring myself to criticize
Poems to me are like the songs of wild birds
Not a clucking blue ribbon prize

Well said..if you dont enjoy a piece there is no need to rip it apart...say nothing... I really enjoyed the encouragement this gives poets to write..sometimes it can be very difficult for some people to post their work for fear of critisism..Eliza Keating
