Birthday reflection

today is November the 6Th.
it started Grey and misty
the smell of sulfur fills the air
and my youngest has just turned twenty!

his optimism,and his style
is what his mother brought to the table.
i sometimes think he has my smile
when i was young and able.

so a feast he has planned for this day
as brothers and sisters rejoice.
and young nephew and nieces will run around.
cos as a child that's your only choice.

so proud of him and i love him so.
like i love the other three!
like the rest of them he will soon leave home
and it will just be the wife and me!

i think back to November the 6th in 1991.
when first held him in my hands
my third and youngest son.

Memorable
Nice commentary on your life, Joe. Expressed with nostalgia, affection and love.

i guess i an nostalgic, and i also think it shows how limited a life you have when the work i do is exposed like it is.i read back on some of this and try to observe as though it has been written by someone else. and its then i see how amature most of it is, although i keep punching away hoping one day there would be a gem that i could be proud of.thanks for dropping by...joe.

That's all any of us can do, Joe. Do your best, and keep punching away.

heart string stuff!!
Hey Joe...Oh how I remember the day my baby was born one year later...to hold him in my arms and the love I had and still have for him almost tears the heart in two...Nov is a good month though as I was the 1st so it must be special...lol...I smiled and then a tear came to my eye as you were able to pull the heart strings that I too have felt holding someone you and only you (and Tina or course) has created...your finest creationin all ways ever...well done babe...and happy birthday I guess...may he develop the love and passion that you have and desire...luv
Silver Wings...

Good write from a loving father to celebrate his son and show him in poetic fashion how he feels--philip.

Beautifully written
This piece has been written really well. I love how you share your sons life with us and want to celebrate his birthday in such a fantastic way. You must be a proud father, and I know he must be proud of his father.

Thank you for sharing.

James
