My Dad's Visit

My Dad's Visit

Standing in a fiery white chariot,
he streaks through the heavenly night sky!
Each time I see a shooting star,
I imagine the same thing,
and wave to my father!
His image I see;
I hear his voice;
feel his touch,
and his
Love!
Tears
of joy;
of sadness;
Fond memories
of a gentle man,
a father, and a friend!
I love you dad, and miss you.
I'm glad I saw you passing by,
and I'll catch up with you the next time,
when your shooting star streaks across the sky!

What a beautiful poem CJ...I was moved by your loving tribute to your father. I bet he says the same thing as he approaches you. Again...beautiful...I enjoyed this very much. Best regards, Jon

Very clever write and a great tribute to your father-love your imagination of your father as a shooting star in his chariot streaking across the sky.

Thank you, philip! The 'imagination' comes from my grandmother. When she was alive she use to talk about my grandfather in the same way. So I really can't take all the credit for that. Sincerely appreciate your comments and kind words! God Bless. CJ.

beautiful
not familiar with this form of poetry, seems a little complicated. lovely poem, very touching. nice writing.

Thank you, Uranusisfunny! The forms construction probably is, but seeing that rhyme is not necessary you need only concentrate on the thought flow. Sincerely appreciate and respect your comments and kind words! God Bless. CJ.

Thank you, my dear Woo, for this lovely review, and for the points! I didn't get the chance to tell him I loved him and to say goodbye, so this is my way of letting him know. He taught me respect, and for that I can thank him for who I am today. As always, I sincerely appreciate and respect your kind words and opinion! God bless, CJ.
