Counting Coins For The Next Drink...
I look at life through a broken window,
The air ruffles my nose,
And the pain starts to snigger,
As she walks away,
Down the lane of harmony.

I place a piece of wood,
Upon the breakage,
But the cold,
And the screams of the wind,
Are still as strong as ever.

I wish I could,
Fix the breakage,
My heart has sustained,
But that is impossible.

I sink some alcoholic beverages,
Just to take the edge off the pain,
And the loneliness,
But the next day is a ferocious,
Upheaval,
As the paranoia,
And anxiety punch,
Like a boxing glove to the face.

I sit on a chair,
That is dusty,
Like my life,
Old and creaking.

My day consists,
Of crying and mourning,
The loss of my love,
I am an emotional monstrosity,
Counting coins for the next drink.

Very good read
Great simple lyrics and imagery, coupled with a good meter, provide the reader with a true sense of your melancholy mood.
Lost loves are a most painful feeling, but as the song says, "Only love can mend a broken heart".
"Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear." I think this quote seems to apply to you.
Good luck and thank you.
