The Talk

“How are you feeling today?”
“I’m good.”- I said with a smile
“That’s nice to hear.”
“Hmm… your smile is quite pretty but somehow it seemed different”
“I’m sorry but I’m confused. What do you mean by that?”
“I can sense a gloom in that smile.”
“How can that be when I’m happy.”
“May I know what makes you happy?”
“You know the answer to that.”
“Oh, forgive me but I don’t.”
“Love makes me happy.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes, I’m in love and that makes happy.”
“Well, one thing I can tell is you’re not genuinely happy.”
A little pissed I said “Then, you don’t know me well.”
“Oh, no, I know you very well and it’s true what I tell.”
“Then why can’t you see that I’m happy because I’m in love?”
“Because you’re in love but not truly happy.”
“Will you tell me why, because you’re not making any sense?”
“See I can feel that you’re in love but with it is not happiness but much melancholy of distrust.”
Shocked no words came out from me.
“You love but you don’t trust the love you have. You fear it will leave you broken and empty heart. You don’t trust that it can last forever and can withstand the rain. Your love is in so much pity that it can’t transcend happiness. You won’t be happy because you don’t trust love.”
Screaming I said “Stopped” and tears fell from my eyes
The she laughed “Now you’ll be happy.”
Confused I raised my face drowned with tears. “How can I be happy when everything you said was true?”
“I know now, you’ll be happy. Your tears tell it so. You cried not because the words I’ve spoken were true. You cried because you know that even you may get hurt you will ignore the pain because of love.”
“I know you very well because I’m your heart.”
