A Smile That Broke The Frown
|
In solitude I contemplate
What I'm just about to do.
I take the time, appreciate
Force myself to see it through.
The empty hand too scared
the grasping hand too weak.
The strength to be prepared
for the foolishness we speak.
Kindly words and helping hand
bring the courage that I need.
Peace from one who understands
and the will to pay him heed.
Stop a while and look beyond
Fear once beaten is opportunity.
To talk a while and seal a bond
To smile and laugh so easily.
A thank you for this testing
this gauntlet you flung down.
This message than I'm sending
of a smile that broke the frown.
Astounded by the effortlessness.
Elation in a well made choice.
How to make just words express
A gentle soul and liquid voice.
