Lights
|
Countless lights have caught my eyes
Like speeding fireflies they went by
Some stayed for a while, enjoying my stare
But others in a blink of an eye have gone away
But there are some that shined best
Though they got me blinded
And barely got a glimpse of them
But still I remain dazzled in their brightness
Sitting here, watching this busy street
These passing lights have brought me in
Realizing some matters of life, though
They have been laid right in front of my eyes
Lights of passing cars, shared a bit of my life
Like people who have come and passed me by
Some stayed longer, others just a bit of time
And a few dear ones who have touched my heart
No matter how fleeting some have been in our lives
Sometimes they are the ones whom we will treasure a lot
Like a bright light from a speeding car
We never get a full picture but it struck our eyes
