What's the cost of happiness?

Hello!

You can find the link to self-promoted poems/stories at the bottom of almost every page on the main site, under 'self-promoted'.

This, of course, does not receive as many views as a 'Sponsored Ads', which appear on some of the main pages, as well as everyone's website! This can be very useful if you would like a lot of critiques, to show off your best work, or just to see if you've written something amazing (even though all poetry is amazing). big grin

I'd just like to add that we will be making some more enhancements to the Sponsored Ads. We are going to add more visibility for the ads around the site so that your ad gets viewed as much as possible. I would also like to switch to a "bid-per-click" platform rather then the "bid-per-day" method which is what we currently have. This is going to be a substantial upgrade but I am hoping to begin within the next couple of months.

As for where everything is, you can create your sponsored ads here:
http://www.writers-network.com/member.cgi?do=ads

Those ads are displayed around the site as well as on this page:
http://www.writers-network.com/index.cgi?do=ads

To create a Free Self-Promo, visit this page:
http://www.writers-network.com/member.cgi?do=promos

And it will be listed publically on this page:
http://www.writers-network.com/index.cgi?do=promos

We will also be reorganizing a lot of the pages on the site to make things more accessable. We have a few new sections that we will be launching soon ( big grin) and will try to order things a little better at that time.

This is still on my list of things to add/fix so thank you for your feedback. Feel free to post any other comments or suggestions you may have.

It seems that once your poems are looked at...and a few of mine have ended up in the spotlight...and that seems to be it...it would be good to circulate older poems as well as the new stuff coming through...now you may do this but it doesn't appear to be the case...If you get fans then they often will look at your work but otherwise they appear lost in the system on your site. Poetry poem for example will circulate all your poems and allow new comers to see your work at different levels.

Hello,
We currently only feature new writing and writing that has been nominated into the spotlight page because, generally, people are looking for new writing to read.

For those that wish to read older writing entries, they can either visit the author's portfolio (and scroll down in the portfolio) or visit our "Writing By Genre" page. You can go directly to the search page: http://www.writers-network.com/search.cgi - You will notice that you are able to toggle/sort the results. You can choose to view older writing first.

The last option you have is to promote your own writing. We have created the "sponsored ads" tool for just that reason. It allows you to promote/feature any writing entry of your choice around the entire site, using your points.

We would like to possibly add new featured lists to the site in the future but we have to be careful not to feature too much. The point of featuring writing is so that it stands out, so if we feature all types (new, old, spotlight, not viewed, most viewed, etc...) it may interfere with its purpose.

It is certainly something to consider and we will look into what other types of writing we can feature.
Thank you for your feedback.
