Death... We all know of it, yet we all fear its aura.  It leaves behind a lingering odor and commotion of emotions we wish not to organize. Some wish to shy away, yet we all end up meeting it someday.  Some open their arms gratefully when that day comes... I wish to be one of those people.

One by one and single file
at least that’s how it begins
boys and girls of every age
brothers sisters friends
dressed in wild imagination
from ghost, to ghouls, and goblins
what a spooky presentation
A pumpkin cast a scary grin
and everyone’s affright
songs of  trick or treat, cheers in fear fills the air
as Halloween rules the night

Pumpkins on porches, carved faces in light;
Bid children closer when dark grows the night.

Hand-sewn bats, ghosts, and a goblin or two
Hide familiar faces - is it me or is it you?

That one is fat with with a pig nose for a mask;
Another is tall and carries a flask.

Here come a set of three down the street to our house;
A fairy, a dragon and of course a 'Minnie Mouse'.

Some try to act scary, others giggle at the fun;
They prance and they dance and they wriggle and they run.

Up to my doorstep I hear shuffling feet,
Then the familiar chorus of "trick or treat"!

Ghosts, goblins, plastic pumpkins and us
Out for candy, candy a must.

Flickering neon, chasing light
for scrambling kids dashing in the night.

One spooky house, maybe two
"Mom, I can do it, and so can you."

Trick or treat
Ready for the sweet,
Thank you again
and now its the end.

Ghosts and Goblins all standing near.
Waiting to scare you. Oh my! Oh dear!
Witches on broomsticks fly in the night.
Fat orange Pumpkins stay lit, oh so bright!
Spooky sounds echo over here, over there.
Black cats seem friendly, don`t go near!
All Trick or Treaters better Beware!!

Halloween Night
Poetry by...
Johnson (galahadcj)
1654...1 CD...

All monsters live on the night of Halloween;
I better be a'scared because they are all mean;
They are all spooky as they all drool green;
All monsters come alive on the night of Halloween!!!
I see the pumpkin with eyes that glow in the night;
And the nasty little goblin trying to incite ay fight;
Watch out for Dracula; he wants to give me ay bite!!!
Danger lurks as I trick or treat, tonight.
I need Halloween candy to relax my fear!!!!
I won't be scared like this, again...
until next year.

Once again, before us, we have Halloween
Children can have fun both mean and clean

There are ghosts, skeletons, devils, goblins
Along comes orangish candle-lit pumpkins

There are haunted houses and ghost tours
There is bonhomie and lots of bonfires

Witches merrily fly in latest loco Suzuki
To create a feel that is totally spooky

Zombies, mummies, demons make costume parties
Kids with jack-o'-lanterns show their abilities

You can have both trick or treat
A ghoulish feat that is so sweet

Halloween is a time for us to pretend,
To dress up and get candy with all of our friends.
Pumpkins are carved and costumes sewn,
A cat that meows, a goblin that groans.
I'll dress as a princess; so sweet and pretty
You'll dress as a monster; so spooky and gritty.
We can watch TV specials as we count all our loot,
And according to this, we can plan next year's route!
The world is our playground, tonight in the street
We'll sing and we'll spook and we'll yell, "TRICK OR TREAT!"

Ok.  Here's my first entry:

Spooky goblins rule the night
Scary faces everywhere in sight
Walk down the street left and right
Screaming “Trick or treat “with all their might
Pumpkins glow at every door
Knock, knock, knock please give us more!
It’s only here just once a year
Halloween fright and Halloween cheer!

Halloween's Finest...

All the Spooky lil’ goblins
come out on Halloween,
All dressed in their finest
costumes so they can be seen,
Trick or Treat is what they say
Hoping for a handful of goodies,
Watching the eyes of the pumpkin
Blinking beneath the hoodies,
Don’t look now, what do I see,
It’s a lot more goblins looking
Back at me.

This Halloween I dressed as goblin
I carried a pumpkin bag for my candy
It was quite handy
I came across a house
Decorated with  a lighted pumpkin
I went to the door
I rang the doorbell
And a elderly man answered with a spooky voice
I had no choice but to say trick or treat
And he told me to leave he hated little Halloween creeps

           A Halloween BOO
Halloween is here again.
Children will be house to home runnin.
Shrieks and screams of "Trick or treat!"
Collecting all the candy one can eat.
Ghostly ghosts , and goblins to.
Witches at their pots making pumpkin stew.
Lurking by a creaking gate ,
a spooky black cat to seal one's fate.
But the most important Halloween thing to do.
Don't forget to scream out "BOO!"

My son you are now fifteen and Halloween is just not your scene.
But I remember a different time when maybe you were 8 or 9.
When Carving a Pumpkin was the flavor,
And Candy Apples you loved to savor.

I remember when you, four or five,
hid behind my skirt to hide
from the Spooky Goblin who did arrive
for Halloween Goodies, you were by my side.

Now you are too old you say
Trick or Treat is now passe.
I wish Halloween could last forever.
And you would grow up and leave me, Never!

What's the cost of happiness?

I'll give it a shot--

Goblins, goblins,
Covered in goo,
Witches, witches,
Making their brew.

Pumpkins, pumpkins,
Little ghosts too,
Children, children,
What should we do?

Maybe, maybe,
'Trick or treat' too,
Candy, candy,
A reason to say 'boo'!

Trick or treat!
Trick or treat!
Spooky goblin in the street.
All the thrills and all the scare
Candy scents filling the air.

With a pumpkin light to light my path,
I'll be on the street till night.
Collecting all the treats I can, filling up my candy bag. :

Come along and join the fun
Watch out for the scary ones,
The ones who roam the night just,
for the thrill it brings to watch scream.[/color]

Why do we have hearts when they break so easily?

October Seasonal

Halloween, the night of fear
Vampires, goblins and ghosts draw near
A pumpkin smile shines in the night
A spooky "Boo!" is always a fright

The rustle of leaves as they stalk outside
It's unpredictable, so hang on for the ride
Because you know it is they you shall meet
When they jump from the bushes and scream "Trick or Treat!"

(I literally wrote this in less than five minutes)

((this is the first poetry that i've ever written that isn't all dark and sadistic... i hope you all like it!!!))

Hey, it's Halloween again, What should I be?
Will it be warm enough for all to see
What scary being I will become tonight?
I hope they scream and run in fright
After they fill my pumpkin with treats
No tricks tonight , only a lot of sweets
Running to door, ringing bells, parents not far
Keeping us safe from those who trick or treat from cars
Witches and goblins rushing to keep from the cold
Running home to see what they'll be told
About what candies they can now enjoy
And which their parents will redeploy
