Why do we have hearts when they break so easily?

Death... We all know of it, yet we all fear its aura.  It leaves behind a lingering odor and commotion of emotions we wish not to organize. Some wish to shy away, yet we all end up meeting it someday.  Some open their arms gratefully when that day comes... I wish to be one of those people.

I likes ta smile and I likes ta laff and I likes ta think thoughts that make me feel good--What do I need with somebody else's drama?--LOL--Life is too short--I present many dramatic problems, but I try to temper them wit ay touch of humor as it makes any problem easier ta face--I learned a valuable lesson when I was younger:  "What we think controls how we feel; We can control WHAT WE THINK; therefore we can control how we feel"--Life is too short ta be ay gloomy gus!!!--LOL--You believe me...doncha???--LOL--

I think just about everyone has had a experience with love that could inspire them enough to pour out their feelings on paper.

Groovy

Dark is probably the closest option to what I write... mostly I write stories that somehow involve insanity. I've noticed that be it an action story, a horror story or a love story, craziness both medical and just general chaotic life factor in somehow. Mostly my characters are totally nuts, though Razz

How about "other"? =]
I prefer to write about abstract thoughts or concepts, but in a concrete way with metaphors.

Most of my beginning poems are Sad. I started writing durning the breakup of my marriage. I am inspired by music, usually. I have although wrote some fantasy poems about love. I have even wrote a humorous one, a time or two. But, if I have to choose just one, I would have to say that my writing now is inspirational.

Resistance is futile!

I voted Dark, but really that's too broad of a stroke to really explain what genres I dabble in. Here are a few (examples of influences in parenthesis) just to give a clearer picture: horror (Anything by Clive Barker, specifically the books of Blood, some Stephen King and HP Lovecraft), fantasy (Lord of the Rings and the Drizzt series by RA Salvatore), realistic (Donald Goines), surrealism (Dante's Inferno), magical realism (100 Years of Solitude), post modern (Fight Club), and more I can't remember or too boring like history and religious history, and religion in general.
Cheers,
JA
